Early mobilization is a procedure so that as soon as possible the postpartum mother gets out of bed and trains the mother as quickly as possible to walk. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of early mobilization on the perineal wound healing process in post partum mothers at Daya Hospital, Makassar City.
This research was carried out in November 2021 at the Daya Hospital, Makassar City. This type of research is quantitative in nature, namely true post-only experiment – control group design. The population in this study were all post partum mothers who experienced perineal injuries in the Daya Hospital, Makassar City. A sample of 16 people was obtained using purposive sampling technique.
The results showed that of the 16 respondents who did early mobilization as many as 8 people (50.0%) and those who did not mobilize as many as 8 people (50.0%). The results showed that in the group that carried out early mobilization, 7 people (43.8%) experienced the speed of perineal wound healing and 1 person (6.2%). While the respondents who did not do early mobilization 2 people (12.5%) experienced the speed of healing and 6 people (37.5%) were slow. The results showed that there was an effect of early mobilization on the speed of perineal wound healing, p value = 0.001.
It is hoped that mothers who experience perineal wounds after giving birth 2-4 hours can do early mobilization if there are no complications, to speed up the wound healing process.
